We would like to invite you to take part in the XI-th Baikal International Festival of Documentary, Popular-Science and Educational Films “PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENT” that will take place in the city of Irkutsk on the 5th-8th of October 2012.
The film festival “PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENT” is conceived by the organizers as a platform to make people think about inter-relations between mankind and nature.
The Festival aims at raising environmental awareness by means of cinematography.
Submission of films for the Festival contest programme is starting on the 15th of February and will finish on the 30th of May 2012.
During the Festival there will be non-contest thematic programmes and screenings for schools and Universities. You will be able to take part in master-classes by well-known documentary directors. In the framework of the Festival an Environmental Forum will be organized to discuss the most urgent environmental problems and the role of non-feature films in their solution.
Our Festival has traditionally provided board and accommodation for one representative of each film selected for the Festival contest programme. Travel costs to Irkutsk can be reimbursed within available funds of the Festival (fully or partially).
